VICTORIA – British Columbia students did well on an international student assessment that focused on reading, with other questions on mathematics and science.
Fifteen-year-olds from 32 countries and 10 Canadian provinces participated, including a random sample of 3,037 students from B.C. The Programme for International Student Assessment 2000 results were released today by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development:
§ British Columbia was included in a group of 12 countries and provinces with top reading performance.
