· Protocol of Co-operation Between the Government of Alberta and the Government of British Columbia Alberta and B.C. will work together to develop co-operative measures and agreements and demonstrate leadership in Canada through: o Exploring opportunities for joint initiatives that expand provincial trade and investment opportunities; o Pursuing joint initiatives to promote greater government efficiencies and reduce the cost of public services; o Identifying best practices and innovations, as well as sharing expertise, in program development and service delivery; o
· Alberta/British Columbia Partnership on Child Welfare Alberta and B.C. will examine how they can further enhance the partnership between Alberta Children’s Services and the British Columbia Ministry of Children and Family Development in the area of child welfare. They will develop plans to work together more closely in information sharing on child welfare best practices, database development and strategic planning in areas of common interest. · Alberta-British Columbia Protocol for Co-operation and Development – Acquisition and Delivery of Learning Resources Alberta Learning and the British Columbia Ministry of Education have agreed to make learning resources more accessible in Alberta and B.C. The Learning Resources Centre of Alberta Learning will play a key role in the delivery of learning resources in both Alberta and B.C. Under the agreement the two provinces will develop a joint acquisition and delivery model. · Memorandum of Understanding between Alberta and British Columbia on Tourism Under the MOU, Alberta and British Columbia will develop joint tourism marketing and promotion. The development of an “Olympic Corridor” between Calgary and Whistler will be pursued, including the identification of travel circle routes with the goal of bringing Olympic related tourists to more areas of the provinces.
