BCBC SHIFT TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY

VICTORIA – British Columbia Buildings Corporation (BCBC) will shift from a Crown corporation to part of the Ministry of Labour and Citizens’ Services.

This move is part of government’s long-term plan to provide service excellence and continuously improve customer access to information and services in B.C. through service delivery, leadership and innovation in partnership with its clients.

Other support services for government programs are currently delivered within ministries under the shared service model, reducing costs and duplication. Moving BCBC into the ministry will provide the same advantages, including reduced administrative and executive costs.

John Heath will assume the role of general manager and will lead the transition to the new ministry model. Heath is the former vice president of finance, planning and performance for the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

The shift will take place over the next year, to ensure a seamless transformation. Clients leasing space from BCBC will not be impacted by this change.
