DEPUTY MINISTER OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS BUREAU APPOINTED

 


VICTORIA – The government has appointed Linda Morris as deputy minister of the Public Affairs Bureau, effective September 6.

 

For the past 20 years, Morris has held senior communications positions in major public institutions across Canada and in British Columbia. 

 

Morris has most recently been the Vice President, Communications & Community Engagement for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. In this capacity she was responsible for the overall communications of the organization, including external, internal, media relations and community engagement.

 

Morris was Director of Public Affairs at the Vancouver Port Authority for seven years. Morris also served as Director General, Public Affairs, for the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation, and as Director of Communications and Promotions for the National Science Museum. As well, she was Manager of Public Relations for the Ontario Legislature.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (honours) from McGill University, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Royal Roads University.
