KAMLOOPS RESIDENT WINS MINISTER’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

KAMLOOPS – Agriculture and Lands Minister Pat Bell presented Steve Carr of Kamloops with the very first Ministry of Agriculture and Lands Minister’s Award of Excellence today.

The award recognizes the hard work and dedication of ministry employees, such as Carr, in their service to the citizens of British Columbia.

“I feel it is important to recognize the tremendous work our government employees do for this province,” said Bell. “Steve should feel proud knowing ministry staff recommended him for this award.”

Steve Carr is the regional executive director of the Southern Interior Region for the Integrated Land Management Bureau with the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands. He has worked for government since 1986.

“Steve has done an excellent job serving the needs of the community and the region with his exceptional work on Front Counter B.C.,” said Kamloops MLA Claude Richmond.

All staff with the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and the Integrated Land Management Bureau are eligible to receive the Minister’s Award of Excellence. Nominees can be recommended by fellow staff and managers.

“I’m happy to see Steve recognized for all the work he does,” said Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger. “His work with First Nations on land use planning and the mountain pine beetle epidemic has been well received by community leaders.”
