YELLOWHEAD PIONEER RESIDENCE SOCIETY ASSISTED LIVING

Yellowhead Pioneer Residence Society will provide 10 one-bedroom assisted living units for seniors, funded under the Independent Living BC (ILBC) program. The new $3-million facility will be located at 4557 Barriere Town Road.

The capital budget for this development is $3,091,753:

Yellowhead Pioneer Residence Society was formed in 1976 to create affordable housing for the pioneers along the Yellowhead Route north of Kamloops. It serves Barriere and area by providing quality and affordable housing and services to help seniors stay in the community. The society manages a building on the same site for seniors who can live independently.

Residents in the new assisted living homes will pay 70 per cent of their after-tax income for their homes and will receive two meals per day, personal care services, a 24-hour response service, social and recreational opportunities, and weekly housekeeping and linen services.
