VICTORIA – RCMP and municipal
police officers who have performed an exemplary service to the citizens of
British Columbia were honoured at an annual ceremony tonight at Government
House.
Twelve officers received B.C.’s highest award for their acts of exceptional valour in the face of extreme hazard. Along with the traditional gold pin for valour, recipients were also presented with a medal of valorous service. Twenty-five officers received a silver pin for meritorious service to recognize their exemplary performance, acting in a manner significantly beyond the standard normally expected.
