Walking Trail and Indoor Running Track A 1.4-km-long trail along Dawson Creek east of
8th Street will connect to an existing trail to create a trail that spans the
city. This trail will provide cycling, walking, running and rollerblading
activities, and link the new indoor running track at the Encana Event Centre
and the Dawson Creek Walking Trail network. The indoor running track will be the first in the
community, providing physical activity opportunities and training for the
community including high school track students and seniors’ walking groups. |

intersection and along the E&N trail to improve visibility of pedestrians

Seymour River Greenway (North Shore Spirit Trail) To provide separate path
and on-road bicycle lands and sidewalks as well as a staircase with
wheelchair accessible bypass on a 3.5-km greenway that will link North
Vancouver’s alpine area with the waterfront. Cates Park/Whey-ah-Wichen Park Trail A 1.3-km long trail through the largest
waterfront park in the district. The trail will also harmonize with other
recreational activities in the park including tennis and a kayak/canoe
launch. The North Shore
Spirit Trail will be a waterfront-oriented multi-use greenway
with access from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove for pedestrians, cyclists,
in-line skaters and people with wheeled mobility aids. |

Hedley - Multi-purpose Outdoor Recreation Site To re-surface an asphalt surface, replace the
boards and fencing around the asphalt surface, and construct change rooms

of most of Hedley’s population, and this facility will be used year-round for
tennis, basketball and hockey. |

access ramps will be designed for wheelchair access. |

Highway 16 Trail Connector A 585-metre-long
multi-use asphalt trail to connect existing and proposed trails on Ferry
Avenue and Highway
97N/Highway 16. The trail will be located in a city-owned buffer zone which
will have significant tree removal this year to sanitize the area of the
Mountain Pine Beetle infested trees. The area will also be replanted with a
naturalized landscape scheme. Heritage River Trail Connector A 740-metre-long asphalt
trail to connect the existing trail system in Carrie Jane Gray Park (Athletic Park) to
the adjacent residential neighbourhood, also bounded by a continuing trail
network at Fort George Park (City Passive Park). It will also be a connection
to the running and cycling trail along the Fraser and Nechako Rivers. |

Walking Trail - Downtown to Beach Access A trail to link the town core and Qualicum Beach

Stanley Park Trails/Seawall Contribution to
rebuilding and enhancing the seawall and forest trails, both important
elements in Vancouver’s recreational infrastructure. The seawall’s
subsurface, surface and adjacent escarpment is to be repaired for the safety
of walkers, joggers, in-line skaters and cyclists. Forest trail work will
include the removal of obstructions and danger trees along and adjacent to
trails, and the reconstruction and enhancement of damaged trail portions. |

create a new section of two travel lanes and two bike lanes on Esquimalt Road

added to maintain steady traffic flows. |

Spirit Trail will be a waterfront-oriented multi-use greenway
with access from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove for pedestrians, cyclists,
