Towards the construction of 10 km of paved accessible pathway with bridges, boardwalks, retaining walls, fencing and pedestrian crossings at roadways. When complete, this greenway will be part of a 30+ km urban trail network.

Mountain Bike Skills Facility and Cross Country Cycling Trail

Located off the Barnet Highway, the Mountain Bike Skills facility will include a novice/beginner area, a slope style course, a dirt jump area and a North Shore style area. The 800-metre-long cross-country cycling trail will begin east of the new bicycle facility and travel parallel with the Barnet Highway.

Central Valley Greenway

A flat, direct and accessible 25-km pathway to link cyclists and pedestrians with multiple communities, destinations and workplaces in the Lower Mainland. The trail will run from the east end of False Creek through Vancouver and Burnaby to the New Westminster Quay, where it will connect with the BC Parkway.

Dawson Creek

Walking Trail and Indoor Running Track

A 1.4-km-long trail along Dawson Creek east of 8th Street will connect to an existing trail to create a trail that spans the city. This trail will provide cycling, walking, running and rollerblading activities, and link the new indoor running track at the Encana Event Centre and the Dawson Creek Walking Trail network.

The indoor running track will be the first in the community, providing physical activity opportunities and training for the community including high school track students and seniors’ walking groups.

Three segments of trail network to complete a continuous trail system over six km in length around the perimeter of the city.

Rails to Trails - Okanagan Bypass Route

A 1.8-km multi-use pathway to be built within an existing railway corridor centrally located within Kelowna, to connect neighbourhoods with parks, recreational facilities and Okanagan Lake waterfront.

Voght Street Walkway

To improve a five-km walkway connection between the city’s bike park, skateboard park, Rotary Park to the downtown core and tourist attractions. These improvements will increase access for people with disabilities including audible signals at a signalized intersection and access for those with limited mobility.

Terminal Avenue - Pedestrian/Cyclist Crossing

To enhance the safety of pedestrians and cyclists crossing Terminal Avenue to access the multi-purpose E&N trail, a fully actuated traffic and pedestrian signal will be installed where Terminal Avenue meets Terminal Park Mall. Lighting will also be installed at the intersection and along the E&N trail to improve visibility of pedestrians and cyclists.

BNR Connector Paths and Pedestrian/Cyclist Pathway

Construction of two multi-use pathways totalling 460 metres in length to link the existing walking and cycling routes in town to the old BNR rail bed.

A 650-metre extension of a path from Poplar Street to Hall Street to allow pedestrians and cyclists to travel between the new community complex and downtown core without having to walk or cycle the highway.

Central Valley Greenway

Grey Canal Hiking and Mountain Bike Trail

Construction of 2.9 km of the Grey Canal hiking and mountain biking trail with smooth crush surface and boardwalks. When completed, the Grey Canal Trail will be 40 km long and connect to the BX Creek Trail.

Waterfront Greenway (North Shore Spirit Trail)

To provide greenway access from the Lower Lonsdale waterfront to Moodyville Park, and onto Sunrise Park and Tilford Shopping Centre.

The North Shore Spirit Trail will be a waterfront-oriented multi-use greenway with access from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove for pedestrians, cyclists, in-line skaters and people with wheeled mobility aids.

Seymour River Greenway (North Shore Spirit Trail)

To provide separate path and on-road bicycle lands and sidewalks as well as a staircase with wheelchair accessible bypass on a 3.5-km greenway that will link North Vancouver’s alpine area with the waterfront.

Cates Park/Whey-ah-Wichen Park Trail
(North Shore Spirit Trail)

A 1.3-km long trail through the largest waterfront park in the district. The trail will also harmonize with other recreational activities in the park including tennis and a kayak/canoe launch.

The North Shore Spirit Trail will be a waterfront-oriented multi-use greenway with access from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove for pedestrians, cyclists, in-line skaters and people with wheeled mobility aids.

Okanagan Similkameen Regional District

Hedley - Multi-purpose Outdoor Recreation Site

To re-surface an asphalt surface, replace the boards and fencing around the asphalt surface, and construct change rooms with showers and washrooms.

This facility is located within walking distance of most of Hedley’s population, and this facility will be used year-round for tennis, basketball and hockey.

Oliver Pedestrian Bridge - Access Ramps

To construct access ramps to an existing pedestrian bridge over the Okanagan River to integrate the bridge into the Town's overall pedestrian and bicycle network, and provide a safe crossing of the river for cyclists and pedestrians away from motor vehicle traffic. The access ramps will be designed for wheelchair access.

Pedestrian Walkway - Downtown to Rathtrevor area

Construct a walkway linking Craig Bay Resort/Rathtrevor Provincial Park areas to the downtown core and the City Community Park. Approximately 700 metres in length, there will be a separated sidewalk for pedestrians. This project also includes disable pedestrian ramp access to the Englishman River Bridge.

Hiking Trail - Dawson Landing to Jeune Landing

Construction of a 500-metre hiking and walking trail overlooking Neroutsos Inlet. This trail will link Port Alice and Jeune Landing allowing those working at Jeune Landing to bike or walk to work.

Greenway Westhill - Cycling Lanes and Multi-use Path

As part of the Westhill Greenway, this project will create a connection between existing on-road and off-road routes with a new off-road route facility. The new 1.6-km off-road route facility will connect Gleynare, College Park and Seaview neighborhoods to the Trans-Canada Trail.

Prince George

Highway 16 Trail Connector

A 585-metre-long multi-use asphalt trail to connect existing and proposed trails on Ferry Avenue and Highway 97N/Highway 16. The trail will be located in a city-owned buffer zone which will have significant tree removal this year to sanitize the area of the Mountain Pine Beetle infested trees. The area will also be replanted with a naturalized landscape scheme.

Heritage River Trail Connector

A 740-metre-long asphalt trail to connect the existing trail system in Carrie Jane Gray Park (Athletic Park) to the adjacent residential neighbourhood, also bounded by a continuing trail network at Fort George Park (City Passive Park). It will also be a connection to the running and cycling trail along the Fraser and Nechako Rivers.

Walking Trail - Downtown to Beach Access

A trail to link the town core and Qualicum Beach West allowing users to walk safely without having to walk on roadways. This trail will complete a trail system that crosses the municipality from Grandon Creek Walking Trail to the Little Qualicum River estuary.

San Juan and Gordon Head Coastal Greenway

Improvements to trails, crossings and sidewalk infrastructure over a 15-km distance for recreation and commuting opportunities to access schools, shops and recreation centres.

To develop a destination playground park that will meet the Canadian Standards Association guidelines for playground equipment and resilient surfacing, thus providing safer play environments and accessibility for children, including the disabled.

North Creek Pedestrian - Cycle Bridge

Construction of a pedestrian bridge located at 180th Street to span North Creek and link the Cloverdale Greenway to the Clayton Greenway. This greenway will also connect the Provincetown area (North Cloverdale West) and a new school, which will begin construction later this year.

Stanley Park Trails/Seawall

Contribution to rebuilding and enhancing the seawall and forest trails, both important elements in Vancouver’s recreational infrastructure. The seawall’s subsurface, surface and adjacent escarpment is to be repaired for the safety of walkers, joggers, in-line skaters and cyclists. Forest trail work will include the removal of obstructions and danger trees along and adjacent to trails, and the reconstruction and enhancement of damaged trail portions.

Esquimalt Road - Cycling / Pedestrian Facilities

To create a new section of two travel lanes and two bike lanes on Esquimalt Road between Dominion and Tyee Roads. Landscaped medians and boulevards, as well as reconstructed sidewalks, are also part of this project. Bus bays will be added to maintain steady traffic flows.

Six Mile Bridge - Cycling / Pedestrian Facilities

To incorporate bicycle lanes into the existing roadway and improve the Six Mile Bridge to allow for bicycle lanes and a wider sidewalk on one side, for pedestrians and people with disabilities.

Lions Gate Bridge to Horseshoe Bay Greenway
(North Shore Spirit Trail)

Approximately 15 km in length, the West Vancouver Greenway path generally following the foreshore utilizing existing pathways, lanes, park roads, local roads and the rail right-of-way. Path segments independent of existing roads will be paved and lit.

The North Shore Spirit Trail will be a waterfront-oriented multi-use greenway with access from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove for pedestrians, cyclists, in-line skaters and people with wheeled mobility aids.
