VICTORIA – A Notice to Vendors has been posted on the BC Bid website, advising interested parties of government’s intention to implement a new state-of-the-art integrated case management system.
The integrated case management system is a computer system that will be used by employees in the ministries of Employment and Income Assistance and Children and Family Development to manage and keep track of clients’ data and personal information.
A new system will make it possible for British Columbia’s social service ministries to more efficiently share information in a totally secure environment.
It is anticipated the Notice to Vendors will be followed by a formal Request for Proposals process to seek a supplier who will provide the necessary software and supports needed to implement the new case management system. This RFP process is expected to be completed by the end of March 2008.
The Notice also invites vendors to meet for half-day information sessions, to be held in October 2007. The purpose of these sessions is to enhance the ministries’ understanding of currently available software applications and features.
Replacing 1970s-era technology, the new system will allow employees from the ministries of Employment and Income Assistance and Children and Family Development to work more directly with British Columbians who need to access government services, freeing up time currently spent on data entry, locating paper files and other administrative tasks.
The ministries of Employment and Income Assistance and Children and Family Development will be working collaboratively with the Ministry of Labour and Citizens’ Services to ensure that this project will enable government to more effectively manage and securely share information among the ministries that deliver social services, improving outcomes for British Columbians most in need.
The Notice to Vendors can be found on the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
