B.C. POLICE HONOURED

 


VICTORIA – RCMP and municipal police officers who have performed an exemplary service to British Columbia will be honoured at an annual ceremony tonight at Government House.

 

Eight officers will receive the award of valour, B.C.’s highest award for acts of exceptional valour in the face of extreme hazard. Along with the traditional gold pin for valour, recipients will also be presented with a medal of valorous service. Twenty-nine officers will receive the award for meritorious service; a silver pin to recognize their exemplary performance and acting in a manner significantly beyond the standard normally expected. Two retired chief constables will also be recognized for outstanding service to policing in British Columbia.
