VICTORIA – Two directors have been appointed and two more have been reappointed to the Northern Development Initiative Trust, announced Economic Development Minister Colin Hansen.
“The Northern Trust relies on its board members to carry out all of the regional initiatives and we look forward to the hard work and commitment these directors will bring to the table,” said Hansen.
By order-in-council, Lita Powell of Fort St. John and Bruce Sutherland of Prince George were reappointed, and Fred Punko of Prince George and Michael John Tarr of Prince Rupert have been newly appointed to the board of directors.
The Northern Trust, which has been operating since October 2004, has
approved investments of over $41 million in the central and northern area of
the Province for priority economic and community development projects. This
funding has been partnered with over $200 million, for total project
investments of over $241 million.
The Northern Trust is managed by a board of 13 regional community and business leaders with a mandate to offer sustainable economic benefits for future generations.
The Northern Development Initiative
Trust was established in October 2004 by the Province of B.C. through the Northern Development Initiative Trust Act.
