VICTORIA – Award-winning television and radio journalist Bridgitte Anderson has been appointed the new press secretary to Premier Gordon Campbell.
Anderson began her career in 1989 with BCTV, before holding positions with CKWX, CKNW and Standard Broadcast News. In 1996, she was elected president of the BC Legislative Press Gallery. In 1997, she became news anchor and producer for CTV Vancouver and most recently she was the host of live national news programming for CTV Newsnet and Canada AM in Toronto.
In 2000, she was awarded the RTNDA (Radio-Television News Directors Association) Award – Canada Votes 2000 for her federal election coverage and in 1999 she was part of a team that won the Best Local Newscast with CTV Vancouver.
The press secretary to the Premier is responsible for maintaining and
enhancing the working relationship between the Office of the Premier and
members of the Legislative Press Gallery and other regional, provincial and
national media.
