POLICE HONOURED FOR EXEMPLARY SERVICE

 


VICTORIA – RCMP and municipal police officers who have performed an exemplary service to the citizens of British Columbia will be honoured at an annual ceremony tonight at Government House.

 

Thirteen officers will receive B.C.’s highest award for their acts of exceptional valour in the face of extreme hazard. Along with the traditional gold pin for valour, recipients will also be presented with a medal of valorous service.

 

Forty-one officers will receive a silver pin for meritorious service to recognize their exemplary performance, for acting in a manner significantly beyond the standards normally expected.

 

In addition, one retired chief officer and two retired chief constables will be recognized for outstanding service to policing in British Columbia.
