In support of Seniors in British Columbia: A Healthy Living Framework, the Province has formed a Seniors’ Healthy Living Network, comprising 13 members from a variety of sectors and communities. Individuals representing different organizations that deliver services to seniors, volunteer and business organizations, Aboriginal and multicultural communities and the research community will provide advice to government for the implementation of the framework.
The members of the new Seniors’ Healthy Living Network are:
· Dr. Patricia Baird – Former Chair of the Premier’s Council on Aging and Seniors’ Issues (Vancouver)
· Mr. Peter Brown – BC Chamber of Commerce (Vancouver)
· Ms. Alice Choi – S.U.C.C.E.S.S. (North Delta)
· Dr. Elsie Gerdes – BC Old Age Pensioners Organization (Armstrong)
· Dr. Gloria Gutman – BC Network for Aging Research (Vancouver)
· Mr. Murry Krause – Union of BC Municipalities (Prince George)
· Ms. Sylvia MacLeay – Council of Senior Citizen’s Organizations of BC (West Vancouver)
· Mr. Michael McKnight – United Way of the Lower Mainland (Burnaby)
· Mr. Colin Milner – International Council on Active Aging (Vancouver)
· Ms. Carol Mooring – Prince George Council of Seniors (Prince George)
· Ms. Grace Elliot Neilsen – BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (Nanaimo)
· Mr. Norm Olenick – British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (New Westminster)
· Mr. Barry Thomas – CARP: A New Vision of Aging for Canada (Victoria)
