HAVEN GARDENS

 


The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) for the Kootenays’ Haven Gardens will provide 18 units of second-stage housing for women and children who are fleeing abusive relationships.

 

The three-storey wood-frame building will include a ground floor with amenity, programming and administrative areas and four residential units. The two upper floors will each have seven units. Altogether, there will be 13 one-bedroom units, three two-bedroom units and two three-bedroom units.

 

The property is located in the south central neighbourhood of Cranbrook and is close to public transportation and amenities.

 

Partners and Funding:


The total capital cost of this development is $6,262,264.

  • The Province will provide $5,787,264 in funding under the Provincial Homelessness Initiative and land valued at $250,000;
  • The Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia will provide $125,000; and
  • Columbia Basin Trust will provide $100,000.
