CORONERS SERVICE REQUESTS HELP TO ID MAN

BURNABY – The BC Coroners Service and Richmond RCMP request the public’s assistance to identify this male whose body was found floating in the Fraser River adjacent to Dyke Road between No. 4 and No. 5 Roads in Richmond on June 2, 2008.

He is of European ancestry and was likely in his 40s or 50s at the time of his death. He was about 180 cm (5 ft., 11 in.) tall and weighed approximately 90 kg (200 lbs.). He had small scars on the front and back of his right wrist. His hair was grey. Also noticeable were his teeth, many of which had been missing for some years. All the remaining teeth were very badly decayed, most of them down to the gum line. This man may have been distraught or suffering mental illness at the time of his death.

If you have any information regarding the identity of this male, please contact the BC Coroners Service identification tip line at 1-877-660-5077, or Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212, or CRIME STOPPERS 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Please see the BC Coroners Service website (Case File 2008-0276-0561) to view or download the facial reconstruction drawing: www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/coroners/unidentified-cases/index.htm.

The mandate of the Coroners Service is to ensure that a thorough and independent inquiry is made into all sudden and unexplained deaths in the community.
