CELEBRATE OUR PROVINCE ON B.C. DAY
VICTORIA – Premier Gordon Campbell made the following statement in recognition of B.C. Day, Monday, August 2:
“As British Columbians, we’ve celebrated a great deal together this year. When the world arrived in February to watch the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games we rolled out the welcome mat, and showed the world that when we work together we can accomplish anything.
“The Olympics created unforgettable memories for Canadians and we’ll never forget that it happened right here in British Columbia. The magic of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games lives on in every corner of our province.
“This B.C. Day, I urge you to recapture some of the spirit we all shared in February, and enjoy the splendour of our province that awed the world. British Columbia’s natural beauty is unparalleled, and it’s right outside our doors every single day of the year.
“We are fortunate to live in the best place on earth. Take some time to see your province this B.C. long weekend, and create new made-in-B.C. memories to share with your family and loved ones”.
