PREMIER’S STATEMENT ON THE HONOURABLE DR. DAVID C. LAM
VICTORIA – Premier Gordon Campbell released the following statement today on the passing of former British Columbia Lieutenant Governor, The Honourable Dr. David C. Lam.
“On behalf of all British Columbians, I extend deepest condolences to the family and friends of David Lam.
“Dr. Lam, born in Hong Kong, became a Canadian citizen in 1972, and was appointed B.C.’s 25th Lieutenant Governor in 1988, one of the highest offices in our country.
“He served with pride and distinction, and his vision of Canada included a place where immigrants would find refuge and opportunity. He contributed much to the fabric of British Columbia, and his generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.
“Our province mourns the loss of a great British Columbian and a great Canadian.”
