PROVINCE CONGRATULATES TELUS ON AWARD
VICTORIA – Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts Kevin Krueger, on behalf of British Columbia, congratulated Telus as the telecommunications firm was awarded the 2010 Freeman Philanthropic Services Award for Outstanding Corporation by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Telus is the first Canadian company to receive the annual international award.
“I’m proud that Telus has been recognized for their commitment to innovative and generous support of countless programs across B.C. and Canada,” said Krueger. “Telus is a deserving recipient of this prestigious award, and is a model for all Canadian businesses of a company that reaches out to the community to assist others, and champions a culture of giving.”
Telus was recognized for the unique partnership between its employees, retirees and community boards that ensures funds raised are distributed in a wide variety of ways that assist a broad spectrum of recipients across Canada.
The award will be presented at the Awards for Philanthropy event in Baltimore, Maryland on April 13, 2010.
