BC coroners service confirms identity of driver

 

VANCOUVER — The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died in a motor vehicle incident north of Hope on Sept. 3, 2012.

 

He was Billy James (BJ) Amey, aged 25, of Chilliwack.

 

Mr. Amey was the driver and sole occupant of a vehicle which went off the road on the Coquihalla Highway about 30 km north of Hope in the morning hours of Sept. 3. The vehicle went down a steep embankment, hitting several trees. Mr. Amey was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

 

The family of Mr. Amey has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
