BC Coroners Service confirms identity of worker

 

VANCOUVER – The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after being involved in a workplace accident on Oct. 11, 2012, in Burnaby.

 

The man is Jeffrey Caron, aged 28, from Calgary, Alberta.

 

Mr. Caron was working in a trench below the ground when a retaining wall gave way, trapping him and another worker.

 

Mr. Caron was transported from the scene of the accident to Vancouver General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

 

The BC Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC continue to investigate this death.

 

The family of Mr. Caron has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

 

The BC Coroners Service expresses its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Mr. Caron.
