Premier's Statement on Eid al-Adha
"I would like to extend greetings for a joyous Eid al-Adha to Muslims both in British Columbia and all over the world and congratulate those who participated in the holy pilgrimage of Hajj in Mecca.
"On this day, Muslims celebrate Eid to commemorate completion of acts of devotion to God. It is a great occasion of happiness and joy. Muslims in B.C. and around the world perform good deeds and give to those less fortunate. It is a time for self-reflection, forgiveness and compassion. It is also a time where families and friends come together and prepare a special meal.
"Our government understands the importance of culture, religion and tradition for families in B.C., and I would like to wish all British Columbians a happy Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour."
