BC Coroners Service confirms identity of snowmobiler

 

VANCOUVER - The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a girl who died as a result of a snowmobile incident near Coquihalla Lakes Lodge on Dec. 30, 2012.

 

The girl is Billie Brittany Bell, aged 16, from Chilliwack.

 

Miss Bell was operating a snowmobile when she lost control of the vehicle and sustained significant injuries.

 

Miss Bell was airlifted from the scene of the incident to Royal Columbian Hospital where she was unable to recover from her injuries.

 

The Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.

 

The family of Miss Bell has been notified of her death. On behalf of the family, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

 

The BC Coroners Service expresses its condolences to the family and friends of Miss Bell.
