VICTORIA – B.C.'s corporate and personal property registries will make changes to operations and services starting today and on July 29 to provide more electronic service delivery and use limited fiscal resources more effectively.
Beginning today, all British Columbia company annual reports must be filed electronically. This Internet-based filing system - introduced in January - has been well received by customers of the corporate registry. More information about the service is available at http://www.fin.gov.bc.ca/registries/CARS/index.htm on the corporate annual reports system Web site.
Also effective today, the registries will no longer offer phone or fax services for:
Starting July 29, the following changes to the personal property registry come into effect:
Registering with BC OnLine will allow clients to perform all of the above services themselves.
Annual reports may be filed using Internet terminals located in all government agent offices, libraries and Internet cafes. Payment at these locations is by credit card over the Internet.
Registries search requests and company name reservation requests can be made at any government agent office in the province. In addition, base financing statements can be filed at most government agent offices.
